Norwegian version

Note: The application deadline has expired

France has the second largest offshore wind resources in Europe after the UK. The French President has set a target of 45 GW of offshore wind generation capacity by 2050. An additional 10 GW of floating wind projects is due to be announced in 2025.

Due to the steep and deep seabed conditions in South Brittany and the Mediterranean Sea, a significant proportion of the upcoming projects will be based on floating offshore wind. By mid-2024:

  • Project A05 - 250 MW floating offshore wind in South Brittany: Award expected in the second quarter of 2024
  • Project AO6 - 2x250 MW floating offshore wind in the Mediterranean Sea: The next step is the publication of tender documentation.
  • The 500 MW Fécamp bottom-fixed offshore wind farm will be inaugurated by summer 2024

Most of the providers in the first project are also positioned for the second project. These two projects for floating offshore wind are a major opportunity for the Norwegian supply chain.
