What is personal data

Personal information is information about an identified or identifiable natural person. For an overview of the categories of personal data processed by Innovation Norway and other important information about our processing of personal data, please read the information below.


Processing of personal data

Innovation Norway processes personal data for twelve different purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • receive information;
  • demand access;

  • complaint to a supervisory authority; and
  • object;

as set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) chapter III.


Social media

Innovation Norway uses social media to provide information on our activities. If you follow us on social media, the relevant platform will be responsible for the processing of your personal data. See further information about this at the relevant platform provider.

When you use the services, Innovation Norway also collects information about, among other things, which pages you have visited, interaction with any emails you have received and registrations for our events. We are responsible for this processing, and the purpose of the processing is to offer relevant services that are adapted to your person, your user habits and interests. At the same time, we further develop the services for the benefit of our users.


Cookies

Cookies are files that contain small amounts of data stored on your pc, mobile or other device. Cookies allow websites to, for example, remember actions or preferences over time.

We use cookies and other identifiers in combination with personal data to provide a better experience of our services, verify your identity and easily give you access to useful information. In marketing and other communications, we may use profiles to communicate what we believe is most relevant to you, both on this site and with our partners. We share information about your use of the website with social media, advertising and analytics partners.

Other relevant legislation

Innovation Norway is subject to the Norwegian Archives Act and the Freedom of Information Act. Thus, we are legally obligated to:

  • store documentation/information (including personal data) in compliance with the Archives Act for a longer period than is necessary for the purposes for which the personal data were processed; and
  • provide access to documentation/information (including personal data) in compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (i.e. a disclosure of personal data).
